This great baking accessory is ideal for home bakers and professional cake decorators. Use it to easily remove domed tops from single layer cakes, slice in every slot for up to 7 thinner layers, slice in every other slot for 3 thicker layers, or mix and match layer thicknesses for more creative cake building. Cakes rest securely against the Slicer's solid section for crumble-free support while holding onto the double handles to keep it steady. For best results, allow cakes to cool completely before cutting them. Spread a dollop of icing under the cake to help hold it in place. Expand the Slicer to its largest size and lower it carefully over the cake. Press the solid section of the Slicer against the cake and hold onto the handles. Using a long bread knife, begin slicing through the desired slot to create the first layer. When the solid section of the Slicer is reached, leave the knife in place, rotate the Slicer without lifting it, and finish slicing that layer. Repeat these same steps for the other layers.
